... The dawn of a new day,
the warmth of the sun's rays
captured in the mighty limbs
of this mossy oak tree...
The lake is just beyond,
welcoming the dawn
and the early morning
walker or fisherman
to the edge of the water.
The big expanse of grass
in this lakeside park glows
in the golden light of sunrise,
long shadows stretching
long fingers of dark silhouettes
into the summer grass.
Long strands of Spanish moss
hang in the branches,
illuminated by the low sunlight
on the horizon.
This is Lake Jackson
in Sebring Florida.
This park is very close
to the Highlands Hammock
State Park in tropical
central Florida...
