Still Waiting at the Lake
by Debra and Dave Vanderlaan
... Shimmering raindrops fall on this magical lake in the middle of Spring, glossy reflections glowing in the rain as a lone wood bench sits under a huge old oak tree at the edge of the water. Walk down the path steps to this little beach along the Benton Waterfall Trail near the campground on this misty foggy morning in the Smokies. These are the Smoky Mountains in the Blue Ridges, part of the Appalachian Mountain Range, home to the most magical scenes in the world. And these big mountains are some of the oldest in the world at a billion years old... Captured in the Cherokee National Forest of Tennessee, near the borders of North Carolina and Georgia, in the tri-state are along the Chilhowee Recreation Area in the middle of Spring...
