...Ethereal light streams
through the morning mists
at the Benton Falls,
captured here in full Springtime
in the Smoky Mountains.
This beautiful waterfall is
in the Cherokee National Forest
of Tennessee,
in the Chilhowee Recreation Area.
The park is full of gorgeous
hiking trails and streams.
High up in the mountains
above the Ocoee River
and Parksville Lake,
the overlooks look over
towards the town of Benton, Tennessee
which this waterfall is named after.
The trail to this point is quite level
and only has one sharp
rocky descent to get down
to the falls,
well-worth the effort
to see this magnificent beauty.
