Description
Old Smoky Mountain Railroad Trestle
by Debra and Dave Vanderlaan
... An old metal railroad trestle spans the Valley River at the confluence of the Hiwassee River, abandoned from the L&N railroad line that ran through Murphy into Andrews and through the Appalachian Blue Ridge Smoky Mountains... Captured in the late fall when the forest of trees has dropped many of it's leaves, the old wooden slats are covered in foliage from the autumn as the sun rises in the east and the sky is filled with interesting and colorful clouds in this historic mountain town and Trail of Tears region of the Smokies...
