... Step onto the warm planks
of the fishing dock,
breathe in the fresh tropical breeze,
stroll to the end
and sit with your toes dangling
into the cool water...
This is late afternoon on Lake Jackson,
towering, billowing
thunderclouds skirting
the edge of the town,
reflected into the sweet water
of this placid lake.
It's full of bass,
just waiting for your fishing pole
to be cast from the end
of this long wooden dock
and your mood to mellow
into the calming
moment of knowing
you are on the edge
of paradise on earth...
Lake Jackson,
near-by the Highlands Hammock
State Park,
Sebring, Florida...
