"Workhorse II" by Debra and Dave Vanderlaan .. A big ol' John Deere tractor is waiting, ready to start the day in the fields on this dairy farm in the Appalachian mountains. Captured in early Spring, the fog has settled in the early morning on the hillsides and the Blue Ridge Mountains. This is the Smokies at it's best, a light mist in the trees and dew on the pasture grass. The sun has just risen over the treeline and glows over the big bad engine of this 4450 John Deere. This one works at a dairy farm, a 100-year old family-owned farm on the edge of the western Smoky Mountains near the borders of Georgia, North Carolina, Kentucky, and Tennessee...
