.... What could be prettier
than a country pasture
full of Queen Anne's Lace wildflowers?
Especially at sunset
when the skies are filled
with golds
and deep blues
to dress up
the bright red
dairy farm barn.
.. The golden last
light of day
spills out over the silos
and pasture crops
in the field
to add a shimmer
to the tangle of flowers.
The stalks of tall corn
soak up the sunshine,
growing seemingly
a foot a day
as the summer
waxes full force...
