These old oak trees lean into the wind, gnarled and twisted from years of storms near Driftwood Beach...This is low tide, when the water in the marsh has pulled back into the sea, leaving behind a vast and wide marshland of golden grasses and reeds. The sun has just crested the horizon 30 minutes before on the east coast, and the sky has turned a very pretty gold, orange, and blue.
