Description
Oak Trees in the Marsh in Black and White
by Debra and Dave Vanderlaan
...One of the most beautiful sunrises
on Jekyll Island,
captured on Driftwood Beach...
This huge old oak tree
was uprooted by storm
and tide surges and lays
like a sun-bleached soldier
on this very interesting sandy beach.
The sand is wet
by the outgoing waves,
glowing at low tide,
reflecting the pretty tones
and silver colors of dawn.
The sun is just above the horizon,
it's rays casting a gold glow
over the branches and trunk
of this gnarled tree.
The foliage and branches are colored
in shades of white, gray, and silver
and the sky above is crystal bright.
This beach is often called
Roots Beach by the locals
on the southern coast
of Georgia... Please see our huge gallery of fine art photography and digital art images from our travels all over the world! Www.CelebrateLifeGallery.com

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.
