A misty summer morning
at Mt LeConte,
the rustic cabins in the camp lodge
are bathed in the dawn's light.
The Great Smoky Mountains National Park
surrounds this camp.
The Appalachian Trail winds it's way
over the mountain near-by with the Boulevard Trail
going all the way up to this scenic spot.
The trail follows the ridge between the states
of Tennessee and North Carolina
from Newfound Gap.
Hikers can also climb or descend
the Alum Bluff Cave Trail
which is one of the prettiest
and most scenic trails in the Smokies.
If you would like to visit LeConte
and stay the night,
be sure to plan your trip well in advance
and make your reservations
the year ahead so you get the date
you would like.
The lodge's cabins fill up very, very quickly
with reservations a full year ahead...
