Description
"Morning in the Blue Ridge Mountains"
by Debra and Dave Vanderlaan
... Standing on the edge
of the high overlook, the view
is breathtaking in the Smoky Mountains.
The forest is alive in the morning
sunshine, beautiful misty fog layers
hanging low over the lake below.
The Blue Ridge mountains recede
in layers as clouds dance above
and the blue of the sky reflects
in the cool clear water
of Parksville Lake
near the Ocoee River Dam
and Whitewater Center.
This is the Cherokee National
Forest of Tennessee near Benton,
on the way up into the Chilhowee
Recreation area.
What a beautiful spot!

of the Appalachian Smoky
Mountains in our big gallery
