Le Conte Lodge Cabins in Soft Morning Colors
by Debra and Dave Vanderlaan
... Ascending up to the top of Mt LeConte, the morning mists of fog settle onto the rustic cabins as the sunlight color beams through the heavy fog in the forest. A beautiful rocky path leads up past the Alum Bluff Cave and winds it's way upward to the top of the mountain in the Smokies. At the top by the lodge at Mont LeConte, there are primitive wood cabins that can be rented for the night by hikers. The trail up to the summit is in Tennessee, near the border of North Carolina, in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This gorgeous image was captured in late Spring, on the cusp of Summer when the temps are still cool and the rains moisten the forest paths almost every day...
