… The cypress trees
in the glades
love water.
They thrive
with their feet wet.
Captured here
in black and white
to emphasize
the lines and shapes
of the tree branches
against the clouds
in the sky.
This tropical swamp
is home
to very large alligators,
fish,
turtles,
wild pigs,
snakes,
and deer.
The water
is shallow and clear
and provides
the drinking water
to many homes
in South Florida...
