Grandma's House and Grandpa's Truck Black and White
by Debra and Dave Vanderlaan
... A foggy morning late in Spring, the early morning light is so special. This pretty cottage is on a rural back country road in western North Carolina. The Smoky Mountains are full of these charming homes. The white picket fence is so southern, the big tree in the front yard hanging low to shelter and frame the scene. This is grandma's house where the grandkids have many happy memories of baking cookies and playing tag on summer days. Grandpa's old rusty pickup truck sits under the big tree out front, wildflowers blooming along the edge of the pastures on the farm...This vintage Chevrolet pickup could be a 1947, 1948, 1949, 1950, 1951, 1952, or a 1953 with the split windshield and type of front grill. Enjoy this lovely Appalachian image and our gallery of other mountain scenes!

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.
