Description
"'57 Rambler"
by Debra and Dave Vanderlaan
... The Rambler was built between 1950-1957.
This once-beautiful sedan
was found abandoned in the woods
of the Appalachian Mountains in North Georgia.
The sleek two-toned paint on the body
was a trademark of the car.
Captured early in the morning,
the glint of the reflected sun forms a star
above where the left headlamp used to be,
almost as if the car was winking at us
as we set up the tripod and camera
to make this beautiful portrait!
A bit of history on the car from Wikipedia: Nash advertised its Nash Rambler Landau convertible in 1951. The Nash Rambler can trace its roots to the Rambler horseless carriage built by the Thomas B. Jeffery Company in 1902 and produced through 1914. In 1916, Charles Nash bought the Jeffery Company, renamed the car Nash and created Nash Motors. Nash merged with kitchen appliance manufacturer Kelvinator Corp. in 1937 to become the Kenosha, Wis.-based Nash-Kelvinator Corp.
