... At the very top of the highest overlook in the Chilhowee Recreation Area of Tennessee, these are the Appalachian Blue Ridge Mountains. The closest mountaintop in this image is Sugarloaf Mountain, a light misty fog settling on the valleys and mountain peaks. The lake below is Parksville Lake just below the Ocoee River Gorge and Whitewater center. Captured in late autumn, the beautiful hickory trees are ablaze in fall shades of orange and red. The sun is almost at the horizon, beautiful light rays peeking out from behind the tree on the edge of the bluff. This is the Smoky Mountains at their best. Enjoy the light of the early evening!
