"Shadows on Driftwood Beach
Black and White"
by Debra and Dave Vanderlaan
... Driftwood Beach at Jekyll Island, Georgia... A thundershower at dawn covered the sky with clouds, except for a slit at the horizon, letting the sun's rays pour out onto the rippled sand on the beach. Low tide is the most interesting time to walk and photograph this beach. Nick-named Roots Beach by the locals, this stretch of beach is called Driftwood Beach. There are whole trees lodged in the sand, captured by the surf at high tides and storms, gnarly trunks and limbs reaching out to the sky and sea. Weathered by sun and waves, the exposed roots are beautifully carved into intricate patterns and shapes... www.CelebrateLifeGallery.com
