Description
"Driftwood Black and White"
by Debra and Dave Vanderlaan
... Driftwood Beach
at Jekyll Island is filled
with old oak trees. The trees
have been dragged into the sea
or lay like waiting soldiers
where the waves have eroded
the sand around their roots.
Some oaks still stand
on the edge of the beach,
watching and waiting.
This image was captured at dawn,
about 10 minutes after the sun
came up. The sky was a cloudy
deep tone with a touch of light
along the horizon where the sun
had crested the edge.
The sun's rays creep over
the horizon, spilling over
the branches of the oak tree
standing guard, reaching
toward the sea... Presented
here in an artistic black and white!
