... Such a still morning in this hidden hammock. The fresh water is so reflective, lush green foliage hanging low, reaching toward the glade, the gnarled branches of the cypress trees dark against the shades of green. Lily pads fill the edge of the lake, the long boardwalk wrapping around this pretty scene, the wooden boards of the dock a rustic reflection in the water. This lovely spot is in the HIghlands Hammock State Park in south-central Florida. This beautiful everglades is sheltered by a magnificent forest of old oaks and cypress trees, meandering trails throughout the acres of this pristine park...
